Christ is king.  I’ll say it again.  Christ is King.

This is a fundamental tenet of the Christian faith and worldview.

After his resurrection and before his ascension to where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, Jesus told his disciples that “all authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.”

We must understand that when he said all authority he meant all authority.  There is not one square inch of this universe in which Christ does not have authority.

God has given Him a name that is above every name.  It is inevitable that every knee will one day bow and every tongue confess that He, Jesus, is Lord.

This glorious truth is echoed throughout the scriptures.

The earth is the LORD’s (Yahweh’s) and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein… (Psalm 24:1)

Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. (Deuteronomy 10:14)

Paul writes in Romans that if God is for us, who can stand against us?  And that Nothing, not war or famine or principalities or powers, present things or past things, high things, low things, nothing will separate us from the Love of the Father.

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah, has overcome, triumphant, glorious and seated on an eternal throne that will never pass away.

For his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” (Daniel 4:34–35)

John’s visions of Christ in the book of Revelation, call him the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.  His kingdom is made up of a multitude of people too numerous to count from every nation, tribe, and tongue.

No matter where you are, Christ is King.

Even in the most wicked and evil corners of our world.  Evil only exists because God permits it for a season.  Even in these dark places Christ is King.

While at times it may seem that darkness is everywhere you look.  Christ is King.

While we sometimes experience difficult times.  We must remember, Christ is King.

Yes, there are certainly times and things that happen in the world that make us question this glorious truth.  Nevertheless, let us say with hearts full of faith, that Christ is King.

Christ is King.
